At Showem Cares Foundation, we strive to improve lives. Over the past two decades, there's been a shift in the definition of "work" and "success." We believe that there has to be more options for young people to find their passion and monetize it. With that in mind, our mission is to use our business acumen and significantly improve the lives of our community through business ownership, financial independence and philanthropy.
Founded in 2020, Showem Cares Foundation has been working tirelessly to make an impact in the community. We have a strong philanthropic focus to give back to the community beginning with working with schools and young children promoting the importance of finding your passion, finding your voice and stepping into your passion with confidence and purpose.
We have a phenomenal dedicated and skilled team who are committed to the vision of Showem Cares. We are a Black-led, Black-focused and Black-affirming non-profit organization. We have chosen to create a safe space for the voices of Black women to be heard and celebrated and we have Black women in various positions of leadership and management.
Showem Cares Foundation started with one simple vision.
Simply put, we wanted to give back!
We are a group of young Black millennials who are business owners and young entrepreneurs. Some of us are self-taught, others have been mentored and some have academic degrees. After launching and growing our businesses we wanted to embody the spirit of Ubuntu and Sankofa. It was important for us to not only teach others how we did it, and give back, we also recognized that when one does well, our community benefits. Since forming Showem Cares, we work with young people to coach them about entrepreneurship, financial planning, saving, banking, investments, marketing, social media, importing/exporting, design, packaging and stakeholder relations. We prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization and we have created an environment that fosters a culture of belonging. We abide by our policies for inclusive workplaces including our Accessibility, LGBTQ2+, Indigenous and Gender equity. From creating business plans to creating websites and product development we do it all. We want to encourage more Black students to own their own business and become financially independent.
-Showem Team
At the age of nineteen the founder of Showem Foundation started his company while pursuing a business degree. He realized early in his life that business ownership would provide financial security, independence and freedom. As a business owner he unleashed his creativity and created a successful clothing brand and promotional events management company. His love for life-long learning and community building afforded him the opportunity to find ways to give back to the community. After launching his own clothing brand, he went on to mentor his friends to do the same. His creativity and knack for numbers and investing helped him to create business plans for individuals who are now successful business owners. The goal of Showem Cares Foundation is to spread the knowledge and use our influence to build a new generation of young, Black men and women who not only own their own business, but make it their priority to give-back to the community. We encourage philanthropic giving, volunteering and mentorship to create needed infrastructure in the Black community to build generational wealth and a legacy for future generations.
Our Cradle to Cap education program works to ensure Black children are supported from birth to graduation through our mentorship, give-away's, speaking engagements and community events.
We believe in the brilliance of Black boys and men and we have built a program built on the foundation of family, ancestry and wellness. Our Brothers Up program lifts and supports young men to find their purpose and encourage them in IT and business ownership.
Black women are the cornerstone of Showem Cares. Our Her St. program is built around Black girls and women. Our goal is to one day create enough businesses owned by Black women that we can have a street dedicated to Black-female owned businesses. Her street is our first step in creating a safe space for women to think about getting into business ownership.

In partnership with local leaders we provided toys and games to families in need.
In October we organized a food drive to support local families facing food inscurity. For every non-perishable food donation made by our supporters, we gave away Showem merchandise. It's a win-win situation 😊
Thank you to our loyal supporters.
